Packaging

When you receive your device, please inspect that the plastic bag is intact and undamaged. If the vacuum bag is damaged or cut open, looks different, or if the gray pattern is missing on one of the four sides, do not use your device and contact us.

Note that this packaging is not a strong tamper-evident solution. It only requires a potential attacker to replicate the customized bag and re-package a potentially compromised device. The more important protection against device tampering is the cryptographic genuine check, automatically performed by the BitBoxApp whenever you plug in your BitBox02. In any case, it’s still good practice to check for any signs of tampering.
