Address sharing is not final verification
This step authorizes PocketBTC to receive a Bitcoin address from your wallet.

The final address verification happens later through a separate email verification step.
During this step, only the address shown on the BitBox02 display is security-relevant.
What happens on your BitBox02
- The BitBoxApp prompts you to interact with your BitBox02.
- Confirm the coin Bitcoin on your BitBox02.
- Review the Bitcoin address shown on the device.
- Scroll through the complete address on the BitBox02.
- Confirm the address on the device.
- A Sign Message prompt appears.
- Confirm that the Bitcoin address belongs to you.
- Confirm the signing request by touching both touch sensors on the BitBox02.
After this step, the Bitcoin address is securely shared with PocketBTC.
07 Choosing how the address is shared
PocketBTC now asks how addresses from your wallet should be shared.
Share entire account (recommended)
PocketBTC can automatically derive new receiving addresses for future purchases.
This improves privacy by avoiding address reuse.

Share single address
Only the currently verified Bitcoin address is used.

Continue the process
- Select your preferred sharing option.
- Click Share now.
Account visibility notice
If you share the entire account, PocketBTC can see past and future transactions associated with this account.

- Confirm the notice if required.
- Click Continue.

This is the final security check confirming address ownership.
- The BitBoxApp shows Confirmation email sent.

- Check your inbox for an email from PocketBTC titled Verify bitcoin address.
- Open the email and click Verify bitcoin address.

- A browser page asks: “What does your BitBox02 show?”

-

FAQ
Why do I need to confirm the Bitcoin address twice?
The two confirmations serve different security purposes.
During address sharing, you authorize PocketBTC to receive a Bitcoin address from your wallet.
Later, during final verification, you confirm that the payout address shown in your browser exactly matches the address shown on your BitBox02.
This two-step process helps protect against address manipulation.
What happens if I enter the wrong payment reference?
PocketBTC uses the payment reference to assign your bank transfer to your order.
If the reference is incorrect or missing, the payment may require manual review and processing delays can occur.
Always copy the payment reference exactly as shown in the BitBoxApp.
When will the Bitcoin arrive in my wallet?
The total processing time depends on:
- Your bank’s transfer processing time
- PocketBTC payout processing
- Bitcoin network confirmations
After PocketBTC receives your funds, you receive a confirmation email with payout details.
Can I close the BitBoxApp after submitting my order?
Yes. Once you receive the confirmation email from the buy provider, you can safely close the BitBoxApp or browser window.
Your purchase continues to be processed in the background, and you can track the order status anytime using the link provided in the confirmation email.
