  • You’ve performed a hard refresh (Ctrl + F5 on Windows/Linux; Cmd + Shift + R on Mac) to clear any caching issues.

Download and install the BitBoxBridge; if already installed, make sure it’s running by following the Bridge instructions below.

Unlock BitBox02

Enter your password on the BitBox02 to unlock.

Unexpected error

Disconnect and reconnect your BitBox02, then retry.

Action aborted by user

You canceled the process on the BitBox02; try again.

Your BitBox02 is not initialised

Download and install the BitBoxApp to set up your BitBox02.

Please upgrade to the newest firmware using Shift Crypto’s App

Open the BitBoxApp to update your BitBox02 firmware.

MyEtherWallet does not yet support this version of the firmware

Hard refresh MyEtherWallet; if the issue persists, await their next update.

Trying to connect from a non‑whitelisted origin

Check for phishing: the correct URL is https://myetherwallet.com.

Expected exactly one BitBox02

Ensure only one BitBox02 is plugged in at a time.

Pairing rejected on device

Reconnect and accept the pairing code by tapping the check mark on your BitBox02 when prompted.

Your BitBox02 is busy

Close the BitBoxApp and any other wallets (e.g., Electrum) before reconnecting.

Device attestation failed

Reconnect your BitBox02 and try again.

Unsupported BitBox device

MyEtherWallet supports only BitBox02 Multi or BitBox01. Bitcoin‑only BitBox02 editions are not compatible.

Plug in BitBox02 and choose screen orientation by tapping sides

Insert and power the BitBox02, then tap either side to select orientation; the USB connection establishes only after orientation is chosen.


Issue: Bridge not found

To use MyEtherWallet, BitBoxBridge must be installed and running. Verify by visiting http://127.0.0.1:8178/ in your browser—you should see a status page like:

Issue: The pipe is being closed

In case you get a "The pipe is being closed" error message while trying to install the BitBoxBridge, please quit any running anti-virus program that might be interfering with the installation process and try again.
