This guide shows you how to connect your BitBox02 to MyEtherWallet and access your Ethereum accounts.
After connecting, you can view balances and manage your assets directly in MyEtherWallet.
This guide covers only the connection process.
For sending, receiving, and using different networks, see the related articles below.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, make sure you have:
- A BitBox02 Multi edition
- The BitBoxApp installed and your wallet initialized
- The BitBoxBridge installed (required for browser communication)
- A supported browser (Google Chrome recommended)
Make sure the BitBoxApp is completely closed before connecting to MyEtherWallet.
Only one application can access the BitBox02 at a time. If the BitBoxApp is open, the connection will fail.
Connect your BitBox02 to MyEtherWallet
Follow these steps to establish a secure connection.
1. Open MyEtherWallet and switch to the legacy interface
- Go to the official MyEtherWallet website.
- Click Connect wallet.

- Close the connection modal.

- Scroll down and switch to the old (legacy) interface.

Currently, only the legacy version of MyEtherWallet supports BitBox02 connections. If you are using the new interface, switch to the legacy version to continue.
2. Select BitBox02 as your hardware wallet
- On the Access My Wallet screen, select Hardware Wallet.

- Select BitBox02 from the list.

3. Connect and unlock your BitBox02
- Connect your BitBox02 to your computer.
- Select the display orientation on your BitBox02.
- On the BitBox02 display, you should now see See the BitBoxApp.
- In your browser, click Unlock BitBox02.

- In the HID device pop-up, select your BitBox02.
- Click Connect.

- Enter your device password on the BitBox02.

4. Confirm the pairing code (first connection only)
If a pairing code appears, compare the pairing code shown in your browser with the pairing code shown on your BitBox02.
- Compare the pairing code shown in your browser with the pairing code shown on your BitBox02.
- If both codes match exactly, confirm first on the BitBox02 and then in your browser.

Only confirm the pairing if both codes match exactly. This verification ensures you are communicating directly with your BitBox02 and not a malicious application.
The pairing code is typically shown the first time you connect your BitBox02 to MyEtherWallet in your browser. If no pairing code appears, continue with the next section.
5. Select the network and access your wallet
- On the Select Network and Address screen, choose the Ethereum account you want to use.

- Select the network you want to use, for example Ethereum.

Ethereum addresses are identical across all EVM-compatible networks, such as Ethereum, Polygon, and BNB Smart Chain. Your assets only appear when you select the same network that was used when receiving them.
- Accept the terms.
- Click Access my wallet.
Your BitBox02 is now connected to MyEtherWallet.
You can now:
- View your ETH and token balances
- Access your Ethereum accounts
- Manage assets across supported networks

FAQ
Do I need to keep the BitBoxApp open?
No.
Make sure the BitBoxApp is completely closed before connecting to MyEtherWallet. Only one application can access the BitBox02 at a time.
Why do I need BitBoxBridge?
BitBoxBridge allows MyEtherWallet in your browser to securely communicate with your BitBox02.
It runs locally on your computer so sensitive actions, such as signing transactions, remain protected on your device.
Why do I need to verify the pairing code?
The pairing code confirms that your browser is communicating with the correct BitBox02.
It helps protect you from connecting to a malicious application or an attacker intercepting the connection.
Why does the pairing code not appear?
The pairing code is typically shown the first time you connect your BitBox02 to MyEtherWallet in your browser.
If no pairing code appears, you can continue with the next step.
Why do I see multiple Ethereum addresses?
Your BitBox02 can generate multiple Ethereum accounts from the same wallet.
Each address belongs to the same wallet but represents a different account that you can use separately in MyEtherWallet.
Why do my assets not appear after connecting?
Make sure you selected the same network that was used when receiving the assets.
Ethereum addresses are the same across EVM-compatible networks, but balances are shown separately for each network.
Can I switch networks later?
Yes.
After connecting, you can switch between supported EVM-compatible networks in MyEtherWallet. The assets shown depend on the network you select.
Why is my BitBox02 not detected?
Make sure that:
- the BitBoxApp is completely closed
- BitBoxBridge is installed and running
- you are using a supported browser, such as Google Chrome
- your BitBox02 is connected and unlocked
Then reconnect your device and try again.
