The BitBoxApp allows you to conveniently check your cryptocurrency balances and transaction history without needing to connect your BitBox02 hardware wallet. This article explains how to use the remember wallet feature to view your accounts safely.

Understanding the remember wallet feature

The remember wallet feature lets the BitBoxApp monitor your public wallet information so you can easily see if you have received new funds. This is a view-only mode and does not compromise the security of your crypto.

  • Your private keys never leave the BitBox02.
  • You must connect your BitBox02 to send funds or verify receiving addresses.

How to enable remember wallet

  1. Open the BitBoxApp on your desktop or mobile device.
  2. Go to Settings in the left-hand sidebar.
  3. Select Manage accounts.
  4. Switch the Remember wallet toggle to the on position.

The BitBoxApp will now display your balances and transaction history even when your BitBox02 is not connected.

Using the feature with multiple devices

The BitBoxApp can remember multiple BitBox02 wallets at the same time. The sidebar will show which accounts belong to each wallet, and a green icon indicates which device is currently connected.

  • The BitBoxApp does not require a password to open. If you enable this feature on a computer or phone that other people can access, they will be able to open the app and see your balances and transaction history.
  • For this reason, the remember wallet feature is disabled by default. Only enable it on devices that you trust and that are properly secured.
