You can receive a BitBox order at a DHL Packstation or postal outlet in Germany, or through Swiss Post pickup services in Switzerland, provided your shipment uses the matching carrier, you meet the service’s requirements, and you enter the required address details. A traditional PO box is different from a parcel locker or pickup point; do not assume that a PO box address can receive your parcel.
For Austria and other countries, we do not support direct delivery to postal PO boxes or parcel lockers at checkout. UPS may offer a pickup or redirection option for an eligible shipment, as explained below.
Can I receive my order anonymously?
These pickup methods do not provide anonymous delivery. Using a pickup address can let you receive a parcel without entering your home address as the shipping address in your BitBox order, but you still need to provide the recipient name and any identifiers required by the service.
The information you provide to BitBox and the information required by the carrier are separate. DHL Packstation and Swiss Post PickPost or My Post 24 require a customer account and verification. Swiss Post Poste restante requires your name and proof of identity at collection. A carrier may therefore require your residential address or identification even when your BitBox shipping address is a pickup location. Using a pickup address does not remove any separate billing or payment requirements.
Check the country and shipping method first
| Destination and carrier | Pickup option |
|---|---|
| Germany, shipped with DHL | DHL Packstation, or a postal outlet / DHL Paketshop that supports parcel receipt |
| Switzerland, shipped with Swiss Post | PickPost, My Post 24, or Poste restante |
| A shipment handled by UPS | Only the pickup or redirection options offered by UPS for that shipment; availability is not guaranteed |
Check the shipping method offered for your order before completing checkout. Do not use a DHL Packstation address for a UPS shipment, or a Swiss Post pickup address for a shipment delivered by another carrier. If the required carrier is unavailable or unclear, contact BitBox Support before placing the order.
Germany: DHL Packstation or postal outlet
For a DHL shipment to Germany, choose a Packstation parcel locker or a participating postal outlet or DHL Paketshop. These are parcel pickup services, not traditional PO boxes (Postfach).
- Prepare your DHL account. Register with DHL if you do not already have an account, then find your personal customer number, called your Postnummer. For Packstation delivery, also activate the Packstation service, complete verification, and activate your smartphone in the Post & DHL app before ordering. See DHL’s registration and Packstation requirements.
- Choose a location. Use DHL’s location finder to find a Packstation or a postal outlet / DHL Paketshop that offers parcel receipt. Note its location number, postal code, and city.
- Enter the shipping address in BitBox checkout using the table below. For a DHL Paketshop, use Postfiliale and its location number, rather than the shop’s ordinary street address.
| Checkout field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| First name / Last name | Your name as registered with DHL |
| Street name and house number |
Packstation [location number] or Postfiliale [location number], for example Packstation 123
|
| Other address details (optional) | Your personal DHL Postnummer; required for this delivery method |
| Postal code / City | The selected DHL location’s postal code and city |
| Country | Germany |
The location number and your Postnummer are different: one identifies the pickup location, the other identifies you. Include both, even though checkout labels the additional address field optional. DHL’s Packstation guide and postal outlet guide explain the respective address formats and collection requirements.
When DHL tells you the parcel is ready, follow the collection instructions. For Packstation delivery, use the pickup code in the Post & DHL app.
Switzerland: Swiss Post pickup services
The following options apply to shipments delivered by Swiss Post within Switzerland. They cannot be used for UPS shipments.
PickPost and My Post 24
PickPost provides staffed pickup points; My Post 24 provides parcel terminals. Both services require you to be a private individual resident in Switzerland with a verified Swiss Post customer account.
- Register and verify your account in the Swiss Post My Post customer portal, then find your personal User ID. Allow time for verification before ordering. For a My Post 24 terminal without a screen, also install the Post-App and enable notifications from Swiss Post’s My consignments service. The PickPost instructions explain registration and where to find your User ID.
- Find your pickup address in Swiss Post’s location search, linked from its PickPost or My Post 24 page. Open Addressing for the selected location to see the delivery address.
- Enter that address in BitBox checkout using the table below. Include the service keyword followed by a space and your User ID in the additional address field.
| Checkout field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| First name / Last name | Your name as registered with Swiss Post |
| Street name and house number | The pickup location’s address, exactly as shown by Swiss Post |
| Other address details (optional) |
PickPost [your User ID] or My Post 24 [your User ID]; required for the selected service |
| Postal code / City | The selected pickup location’s postal code and city |
| Country | Switzerland |
Wait for Swiss Post’s email or SMS confirming that the parcel is ready. For PickPost, bring the notification and valid official identification. For My Post 24, follow the notification’s collection instructions for your terminal.
Poste restante
Poste restante lets you collect a parcel at a Swiss Post branch under your name. Swiss Post’s instructions do not require a customer account, but you must show proof of identity when collecting it.
Choose a branch using the location search linked from Swiss Post’s Poste restante instructions and copy its full address. Enter your shipping address in BitBox checkout as follows:
| Checkout field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| First name / Last name | Your full name as shown on your identification |
| Street name and house number |
Poste restante or Postlagernd
|
| Other address details (optional) | The selected branch’s street and house number; required for this delivery method |
| Postal code / City | The selected branch’s postal code and city |
| Country | Switzerland |
Include both the service designation and the branch’s street address. Follow the parcel’s tracking and collect it at the branch under your name, bringing valid identification.
UPS pickup options and other countries
Do not enter a postal PO box or another carrier’s parcel locker address for a UPS shipment. UPS may offer delivery or redirection to a UPS Access Point or another UPS pickup location, depending on the country, shipment, and any restrictions.
When ordering outside the supported DHL and Swiss Post pickup services, use a deliverable street address. Entering a pickup point’s street address at BitBox checkout does not by itself book a UPS pickup service.
After dispatch, open UPS tracking for your parcel and check the available delivery options, or check your UPS My Choice account. Use only an option UPS offers for that shipment. An account may be needed for some options, but registration is not a universal requirement for every UPS delivery change. Pickup or redirection cannot be guaranteed, and collection requirements depend on the service.
If you prefer a local purchasing option, check our authorized reseller list and ask the reseller about its delivery or collection arrangements.
If the address is wrong or delivery fails
Check the recipient name, customer ID, pickup location, and carrier before placing your order. An incomplete or incompatible pickup address can delay delivery or cause the parcel to be returned.
If you notice an error after ordering, contact BitBox Support promptly with your order ID, tracking number if available, and the correct delivery address. If the carrier reports a failed delivery, include its latest update. We will check what options are available; an address correction or redirection is not guaranteed, especially after dispatch.
For help finding your tracking information or dealing with a delayed or missing parcel, see BitBox order status and delivery help.
