During correspondence with the BitBox support team, we might ask you to provide the log file of the BitBoxApp to help us find the cause of an issue. Since the BitBox Ritom update (BitBoxApp version 4.43.0), you can export this log file directly from within the app.
Go to "Settings" and "Advanced settings" and click on "Export logs" at the bottom. Depending on your operating system, a dialog to save the file will open. Choose a desired location for the file and save it.
BitBoxApp directory
The BitBoxApp stores configuration and log files in its own application data folder called "bitbox". You can locate the log file and its directory manually, if you're on an older version of the BitBoxApp or need to access other files in the directory:
- Windows: navigate to
C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\bitbox\log.txt
- macOS: Open finder, in the menu bar select "Go" > "Go to folder".
In the pop-up enter:~/Library/Application Support/bitbox/log.txt
and select "Go". - Linux: navigate to
~/.config/bitbox/log.txt
or whichever yourXDG_CONFIG_HOME
points to.
