The BitBoxApp allows you to view your crypto balances and transaction history without connecting your BitBox02 hardware wallet.
What is the "Remember wallet" feature?
This feature lets the BitBoxApp monitor your public wallet information, so you can easily check for incoming funds. Your security is never compromised:
- Your private keys never leave the BitBox02.
- You must connect your BitBox02 to send funds or verify addresses.
The feature simply watches your public addresses for activity. It was introduced in the BitBox 12.2023 Sustli update.
How to activate the feature
- Open the BitBoxApp on your desktop or mobile device.
- Go to Settings and select Manage accounts.
- Toggle the Remember wallet option on.
The app will now display your balances and transactions without the hardware wallet connected.
Using the feature with multiple devices
The app can remember several BitBox02 wallets at once. The sidebar shows which accounts belong to each device and uses a green icon to indicate which one is currently connected.
Important privacy consideration
The desktop BitBoxApp does not require a password. If you enable this feature on a shared computer, anyone with access to that computer can open the BitBoxApp and see your balances and transaction history.
For this reason, "Remember wallet" is disabled by default. Only activate it if you are confident that your computer is secure.
