This article shows you how to make supported ERC20 tokens visible within your Ethereum account in the BitBoxApp. While the BitBox02 secures many tokens, you must manually enable them before you can see and manage their balances.
Before you start
- Ensure the BitBoxApp is installed and your BitBox02 is set up.
- You must have already created an Ethereum (ETH) account in the BitBoxApp.
Add an Ethereum account
Before you can manage any ERC20 tokens, you first need a parent Ethereum account to hold them.
- In the BitBoxApp, go to Settings.
- Click on Manage accounts.

- Select Add account and, if not already connected, connect your BitBox02.

- Under "Select a coin", choose Ethereum from the list.
- Assign a recognizable name to your account (e.g., "My ETH Vault"). You can change this name later.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to confirm the new account on your BitBox02.
Activate supported ERC20 tokens
Once your Ethereum account is set up, you can choose which tokens to display within it.
- Go back to Settings > Manage accounts.
- You will see your new Ethereum account listed with an option labeled “Show tokens”.

- Click on Show tokens to display a list of all natively supported ERC20 tokens.

- Find the token you wish to add (e.g., USDT, LINK, etc.) and click the toggle switch to enable it.
- Close the token management window. You will now see the newly enabled token appear as a sub-account under your main Ethereum account in the sidebar.
You can repeat this process at any time to add or remove token accounts from your view. Disabling a token only hides it; it does not affect your funds, which remain securely on the blockchain.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What if the token I want isn't on the list?
If a token does not appear in the "Manage tokens" list, it is not natively supported by the BitBoxApp. You can still secure it with your BitBox02, but you will need to use a compatible third-party wallet (like Rabby or MyEtherWallet) to view and manage it.
Do I need a separate address for each token?
No. All your ERC20 tokens are held on your single Ethereum address. The BitBoxApp simply displays them as separate sub-accounts to make it easier to track your balances.
Do I need ETH to manage tokens?
Yes. To send any ERC20 token, you must have a small amount of ETH in your main Ethereum account to pay for the network transaction fee, also known as "gas".
