The BitBoxApp lets you review detailed information for every transaction in your account. This helps you understand the transaction status, amount, fee, address, values, and technical details such as confirmations, weight, virtual size, and transaction size.
You can also open the transaction in an external block explorer to view additional public blockchain information.
How to open transaction details
- Open the BitBoxApp.
- Select the account you want to review from the left sidebar.

- Find the transaction you want to inspect.
- Click the magnifying glass icon on the right side of the transaction row.

- The transaction details window opens.

What you see in the transaction details
The transaction details window shows the most relevant information about the selected transaction.

Depending on the transaction, you may see the following fields:
- Status or transaction flow: Shows the transaction direction from the perspective of your wallet:
- Amount: Shows the transaction amount and its value.
- Date: Shows when the transaction was made or confirmed.
- Note: Lets you add a private note for your own reference.
- To address: Shows the address to which the transaction was sent.
-
Fee: Shows the network fee paid for the transaction, if a fee was paid by your wallet.
- Fees are shown from the perspective of your wallet. When you receive funds, you do not pay the transaction fee, so no fee is shown.
- Historical value: Shows the value at the time of the transaction. This is the same value shown in the upper part below the amount.
- Current value: Shows the current value of the transaction amount.
- Transaction ID: Shows the unique identifier of the transaction.
Fee perspective
Transaction fees are shown from the perspective of your wallet. If you receive funds, the sender pays the network fee. If you send funds, including to one of your own addresses, your wallet pays the fee.
Private transaction notes
Transaction notes help you organize your own transaction history inside the BitBoxApp. They are not part of the public blockchain transaction.
How to view advanced transaction details
- Open the transaction details window.
- Click Advanced view to unfold the additional technical information.

- Review the advanced transaction details.
The advanced view can include:
- Confirmations: Shows how many confirmations the transaction has on the blockchain.
- Weight: Shows the transaction weight used for fee calculation.
- Virtual size: Shows the virtual transaction size.
- Size: Shows the actual transaction size in bytes.
How to open the transaction in an external block explorer
At the bottom of the transaction details window, click Open in external block explorer.
This opens the transaction on Mempool, where you can review additional public blockchain details, such as fee rate, confirmation status, inputs, outputs, and more technical transaction data.
External block explorer
The external block explorer shows public blockchain data outside the BitBoxApp. It can help you verify transaction details, but it cannot change, cancel, or reverse a transaction.
FAQ
Why do I see “sent amount to self”?
“Sent amount to self” means that funds were sent from your wallet to another address that also belongs to your wallet. In this case, the transaction details show the amount sent to yourself and the destination address. Since your wallet created the transaction, the network fee is shown as paid by your wallet.
Why is no fee shown when I receive funds?
Fees are shown from the perspective of your wallet. When you receive funds, the sender pays the network fee. Since your wallet did not pay the fee, no fee is shown in the transaction details.
What is the difference between historical value and current value?
The historical value shows the value at the time of the transaction. The current value shows the value based on the current exchange rate.
Why does the historical value match the value shown below the amount?
The value shown below the amount in the upper part of the transaction details represents the value at the time of the transaction. This is why it matches the historical value field.
What is a transaction ID?
The transaction ID is the unique identifier of a blockchain transaction. You can use it to look up the transaction in a block explorer.
Why should I open a transaction in Mempool?
Mempool shows additional public blockchain details that are not displayed directly in the BitBoxApp. This is useful if you want to verify confirmations, fee rate, inputs, outputs, or more technical transaction data.
