If you're unable to sell bitcoin in the BitBoxApp through one of our marketplace partners, there are several possible reasons.

The BitBoxApp only provides access to third-party marketplace services. Buying and selling transactions are processed directly by the selected partner, which means availability, eligibility, verification requirements, and supported regions are determined by that partner.

Selling services are provided by third-party partners

Buying and selling bitcoin in the BitBoxApp is facilitated by integrated marketplace partners.

The BitBoxApp itself does not process purchases, sales, identity verification, compliance reviews, or bank transfers. These services are handled directly by the selected partner.

Marketplace partner support
If you have questions about account verification, compliance requirements, supported countries, payment processing, or selling eligibility, please contact the support team of the marketplace partner you are using.

Partner availability in your region

Marketplace partners decide independently which countries and regions they support.

At the moment, selling through marketplace partners is generally focused on countries in the SEPA region and Switzerland. However, availability can differ depending on the selected provider.

When opening the Marketplace section in the BitBoxApp, select your country or region. The BitBoxApp will then display whether a selling partner is available for your location.

Additional verification may be required

Some marketplace partners may request additional information before allowing a bitcoin sale.

For example, when selling larger amounts or bitcoin that was acquired outside of the selected partner’s service, the partner may require additional verification or proof-of-origin documentation before processing the transaction.

Requirements vary between providers and are determined entirely by the marketplace partner.

Compliance requirements
Verification requirements are defined by the selected marketplace partner and may differ depending on your country, account status, transaction amount, and source of funds.

Insufficient funds

If you receive an insufficient funds error, verify the following:

  • You selected the correct account.
  • The account contains enough bitcoin for the sale.
  • The account contains enough bitcoin to cover the network transaction fee.
  • The bitcoin is located in the account you selected.

Account behavior
Bitcoin balances are managed per account. Funds held in one account cannot automatically be used from another account, even if both accounts belong to the same wallet.

Still unable to sell?

If the issue relates to account verification, supported countries, payment processing, bank transfers, or selling eligibility, please contact the support team of the marketplace partner directly:

If you believe the issue is caused by the BitBoxApp itself, please contact BitBox support.
