Important notes before paying

Order confirmation email

After selecting your payment method and proceeding, you will receive an order confirmation email containing:

  • Your order ID
  • Order details
  • Total amount

At this stage, your payment has not yet been received. This is expected.

Payment confirmation email

Once your payment has been successfully processed and assigned to your order, you will receive a separate payment confirmation email.

This email includes:

  • Confirmation that your payment was successful
  • Your invoice for the order

Only after receiving this email will your order move forward to processing and shipping preparation.

If you choose bank transfer, processing can take 2–5 business days.
During this time, you may receive an automated payment reminder.
If you already initiated the transfer, you can safely ignore it.

How each payment method works

Bitcoin & Lightning

If you select Bitcoin or Lightning, you will be redirected to a secure payment page where you can:

  • View the Bitcoin address
  • Scan a QR code
  • See the exact BTC amount
  • Optionally switch to Lightning Network

Paying with Bitcoin or Lightning gives you a 2% discount on your order.

Credit/Debit card, PayPal, and local payment methods

If you choose this option, you will be redirected to Stripe, our payment provider.

Depending on your region, you may see different options such as:

  • Credit or debit card
  • PayPal
  • Local payment methods (e.g. iDEAL, Bancontact, Alipay, WeChat Pay)

Payments are typically processed instantly, allowing your order to move forward without delay.

Bank transfer (EUR only)

If you select bank transfer:

  • You will receive the bank details via Stripe Checkout
  • Only EUR transfers are supported
  • Processing time is typically 2–5 business days

When you order in the BitBox shop and choose to pay via bank transfer, we use Stripe as a payment processor. Stripe uses different banking partners depending on the currency and region.

For European customers, the deposit account used to receive your transfer is typically hosted at Citibank in Dublin (Ireland).

This setup is standard for Stripe and ensures secure and reliable payment processing across different regions.

After your payment

Once your payment is completed:

  1. Wait for the payment confirmation email
  2. Your order will be processed and prepared for shipping
  3. You will receive further updates once your order is shipped

If you paid via bank transfer and receive a reminder email, this is automated.
It does not mean your payment failed.

If you used bank transfer, delays are normal. Wait for the full processing time before contacting support.

Can I change my payment method after placing the order?

No. Once the order is created, the payment method cannot be changed. You would need to place a new order if necessary.
