What is AdaLite?

AdaLite is a lightweight, open-source web wallet for Cardano (ADA), developed by VacuumLabs. When paired with the BitBox02 hardware wallet, it allows you to securely send, receive, and stake ADA. AdaLite is accessible directly from your browser, making it a convenient option for managing your Cardano assets.

Getting Started with AdaLite and BitBox02

Follow these steps to set up and use AdaLite with your BitBox02 hardware wallet.

Step 1: Set Up Your BitBox02

Download and install the BitBoxApp.
Follow the setup wizard to initialize your device and create a backup.
Ensure your BitBox02 firmware is updated to version 9.9.0 or later for full Cardano support. To update your BitBox02 firmware, install the latest BitBoxApp and update the firmware in the "Manage device" tab.

Step 2: Install BitBoxBridge (If Necessary)

BitBoxBridge is a background application that enables communication between your BitBox02 and web wallets like AdaLite.

If you're using browsers other than Chrome, download and install the BitBoxBridge.
Chrome users do not need to install BitBoxBridge, as it natively supports WebUSB.

Step 3: Connect BitBox02 to AdaLite

Navigate to adalite.io.
Click on "Hardware Wallet" and select "BitBox02."
Unlock your BitBox02 by entering your device password.
1. Note: If your BitBox02 is already unlocked, this step will be skipped.
If prompted, verify that the pairing code displayed on AdaLite matches the one on your BitBox02, then confirm on the device.

Note: You will be prompted with a pairing code whenever you use the BitBox02 with a new browser or computer.

Done. You are now ready to use AdaLite!

Receiving ADA

In AdaLite, click on the "Receive" tab.
Select an address from the list provided.
Click the "Copy Address" button or scan the QR code to obtain your receiving address.
Before initiating a transaction, click "Verify on BitBox02" in AdaLite to confirm that the address matches the one displayed on your device.

Sending ADA

Click on the "Send" tab in AdaLite.
Enter the recipient's address and the amount of ADA you wish to send.
Click "Send" and review the transaction details.
Confirm the transaction on your BitBox02 by verifying the address, amount, and fees.

Staking ADA

Navigate to the "Staking" tab in AdaLite.
Enter the staking pool ID of your chosen pool.
1. By default, AdaLite uses its own pool ID.
Click "Delegate" and confirm the transaction in AdaLite.
Finalize the delegation by confirming on your BitBox02.

Important Notes

Firmware Updates: Ensure your BitBox02 firmware is version 9.9.0 or higher to support Cardano transactions and staking.
Token Support: Currently, BitBox02 does not support Cardano native tokens. Avoid sending tokens to your BitBox02 or including tokens in ADA transactions, as these funds will not be spendable.
Browser Compatibility: For the best experience, use Google Chrome, which supports direct communication with hardware wallets.
