The Account information section in the BitBoxApp gives you access to additional details and tools for a specific account.
From there, you can export your transaction history, view account details, sign a message, and check previously used addresses.
Account information is opened separately for each account. This applies both between different crypto networks and between multiple accounts of the same coin. For example, each Bitcoin account and each Ethereum account has its own account information section.
Before you start
Make sure that:
- the BitBoxApp is installed and open
- your BitBox02 is connected
- your BitBox02 is unlocked with your device password
- your wallet is unlocked if you use an optional passphrase
If you use an optional passphrase, make sure you enter the correct passphrase. A different passphrase opens a different wallet.

What you can find in account information
The Account information section contains several tools and details related to the selected account.
Export transaction history
Use Export transaction history to download the transaction history of the selected account.
This can be useful if you need an overview of your transactions for personal records, accounting, or tax preparation.
View account details
Use View account details to see technical information about the selected account.
Depending on the account type, this may include account-specific details such as extended public keys or wallet descriptors.
Account details can contain information that helps identify or track the activity of this account. Only share this information if you understand what it is used for.
Sign message
Use Sign message if you need to prove that you control a specific address from your wallet.
This is sometimes requested by exchanges, services, or counterparties to verify address ownership.
View used addresses
Use View used addresses to see addresses from this account that were already used in the past.
This can be helpful if you need to sign a message with a specific address you have used before.
Reusing Bitcoin addresses is generally not recommended for privacy reasons. When possible, use a new receiving address for each transaction.
FAQ
Do I need to open account information for each account separately?
Yes. Account information is account-specific. Select the account first, then open Account info for that account.
Why do I not see the account I am looking for?
Make sure your BitBox02 is connected and that you unlocked the correct wallet. If you use an optional passphrase, entering a different passphrase opens a different wallet.
Can I export the transaction history for all accounts at once?
No. Transaction history is exported per account. Select the account you need, then use Export transaction history.
What is the difference between account details and used addresses?
Account details show technical information about the account. Used addresses show addresses from that account that have already received or sent transactions.
Is it safe to share account details?
Be careful. Some account details, such as extended public keys or descriptors, can allow someone to view the activity of that account. They do not give access to your funds, but they can affect your privacy.
Why would I need to sign a message?
Message signing can be used to prove that you control a specific wallet address without sending a transaction. This may be requested by some services or counterparties.
