You can connect your BitBox02 Multi to MyEtherWallet (MEW) on a computer to view your Ethereum accounts and manage assets supported by MEW. Use MEW's legacy web interface, which provides the BitBox02 connection option.
Connecting does not move your funds or require you to import a wallet backup. MEW uses public account information to display your wallet and can request actions from your BitBox02; your private keys remain on the device.
Never enter wallet secrets into MyEtherWallet
This connection uses the hardware-wallet option. Never enter recovery words, a private key, your device password, or an optional passphrase into the website, and never upload a wallet backup. If the page asks for any of these, stop and close it. Enter your device password and, if enabled, your optional passphrase only on the BitBox02.
Before you connect
These steps use a direct USB connection in Google Chrome on a desktop or laptop computer. You need:
- A BitBox02 Multi with an existing wallet already set up in the BitBoxApp. The Bitcoin-only edition cannot access Ethereum accounts.
- Google Chrome and a USB connection between your computer and the BitBox02.
- If you want to access funds you already received, the receiving address and the network used for that transfer. Use your previously verified address or the sender's transaction record to identify the intended account.
Chrome can communicate directly with the BitBox02, so you do not need BitBoxBridge for this connection method. Close the BitBoxApp completely before starting, along with any other wallet application using the device. Only one application can access the BitBox02 at a time.
Connect your BitBox02 to MyEtherWallet
You will open the hardware-wallet connection, unlock your BitBox02, and choose the address and network you want to view. Keep the device connected throughout. The screenshots show MEW's English legacy interface; your account details will differ.
1. Open the official legacy interface
In Chrome, open MyEtherWallet's legacy wallet-access page. Check that the browser address is https://www.myetherwallet.com/wallet/access. The page shows Access my wallet and several connection methods.
If you are on MEW's newer interface and cannot find BitBox02, use the legacy link above.

2. Select BitBox02 as your hardware wallet
On Access my wallet, scroll down to Hardware wallets, the option listing devices such as Ledger, Trezor, and BitBox02. Select it to open Select a hardware wallet.
Select the BitBox02 card. MEW opens Connect your BitBox02 with an Unlock BitBox02 button.

3. Connect your BitBox02 by USB
Connect the BitBox02 to your computer and select the display orientation on the device. A message such as See the BitBoxApp may appear. Leave the BitBoxApp closed and continue in MEW.

In MEW, select Unlock BitBox02 beneath the device illustration. Chrome opens a separate device-selection window asking which device the website may connect to.
Select the BitBox02 row, then Connect at the bottom right of that window. The device should now ask you to unlock it. If it is not listed, follow If the connection does not complete.

4. Unlock on the BitBox02
Enter your device password using the BitBox02's touch controls and follow the prompts on its display. MEW shows Enter BitBox02 password with an animation while waiting. Enter the password on the device only; there is no website password field to fill in.
If the optional passphrase feature is enabled, enter the exact passphrase for your intended wallet on the BitBox02 when prompted. For your standard wallet, leave that entry empty. A different passphrase opens a different wallet, so do not use a new passphrase to access existing funds.

5. Check the pairing code if it appears
On Confirm pairing code, compare the complete code in MEW with the code on the BitBox02. If they match exactly, confirm on the BitBox02 first, then select Confirm in MEW. The browser button becomes available after device confirmation. Compare your current codes, not the screenshot example.
If the codes differ, reject the pairing and stop. A previously paired connection may continue without a new code. Once MEW shows Select Network and Address, continue with address selection.

6. Choose the address you want to use
On Select Network and Address, open Address, above Network, if it is collapsed. MEW lists addresses from your BitBox02 wallet. Use Next or Previous below the list to find the address you want to use.
Choose the address according to the account you want to open:
- To access existing funds, find the address matching your previously verified receiving address or the sender's transfer record.
- To use your first BitBoxApp Ethereum account, look for MEW's first address, numbered 0. With the standard Ethereum address path and the same wallet and optional passphrase, it matches that account. Compare the complete address; if you have hidden accounts in the BitBoxApp, the first visible account may be a different one.
- If you have not received funds yet, you can select the account you intend to use for a future deposit. A zero balance is expected for an unused address. Before sharing it or sending funds to it, verify the receiving address on your BitBox02 using the receiving guide linked below.
If an address is shortened, select the copy icon beside it, shown as two overlapping rectangles, and paste the public address into a local text editor to compare the full value. Use this comparison for any existing account you want to open, including another BitBoxApp Ethereum account.
Select the circle at the left of the intended address's row. The selected circle marks the address you will open on the dashboard.

Do not choose another address simply because the displayed balance is zero. If your existing account used a custom path or you cannot find the expected address, stop before receiving or sending funds and contact BitBox Support rather than guessing different address-path settings.
7. Choose the network and recheck the address
Open Network below Address. Check the selected network; it determines which balances MEW shows for your address. For Ethereum, use ETH - Ethereum. To change it, select the circle at the right of the intended network's row; use Find Network above the list to search by name if needed. For an existing transfer, choose its actual sending network rather than a similarly named test network.

If you change the network at this stage, MEW reloads the address list and selects its first address. Reopen Address, find your intended address again using Next or Previous if needed, and select its circle. Check the complete address again before continuing.
If you leave the current network selected, your address choice stays in place.
8. Review the terms and open your wallet
Below the address and network sections, open the Terms link. If you agree, select the acceptance checkbox next to To access my wallet, I accept Terms. With your address selected and the terms accepted, Access my wallet becomes available.

Select Access my wallet beneath the checkbox. MEW opens the dashboard for the selected address and network. Your account card is near the top of the left sidebar, and the Network panel shows the selected network.

Check the wallet you opened
The connection is complete when the dashboard is visible and shows your intended address and network. You do not need to send or receive funds to test the connection. An empty balance alone does not establish that funds are lost.
If you opened the wrong address or want to use another one, select Log out in the left sidebar and confirm with Log out in the dialog. Then repeat the connection from the legacy wallet-access page, selecting the intended address on Select Network and Address.
If the address is correct but the network is wrong, you can change it from the dashboard without logging out. Follow Switch EVM networks in MyEtherWallet with your BitBox02. Your selected address remains the same.
Selecting an account is separate from verifying a receiving address on the device. Before sharing an address or transferring funds to it, follow Receive ETH and tokens in MyEtherWallet with your BitBox02.
If the address is correct but a transfer is missing, check the actual sending network and follow Locate missing funds with MyEtherWallet and your BitBox02. If the wallet is unfamiliar and you use an optional passphrase, review how to reopen the intended passphrase-protected wallet before using it.
Understand your addresses and networks
Your BitBoxApp accounts in MEW
The BitBoxApp supports up to five Ethereum accounts, each with its own address. MEW can derive and display more addresses from the same wallet. An additional address available in MEW is not necessarily available in the BitBoxApp.
Same address, separate networks
For the same BitBox02 account, the address is identical on Ethereum and other Ethereum-compatible networks, also called EVM networks. Each network has its own balances, tokens, and transaction history at that address. A transfer arrives on the network used by the sender; switching MEW's network changes what you view, without moving funds between networks.
The same address does not mean every network is available in MEW or accepted by a recipient. Before a transfer, agree on both the complete receiving address and the network.
If the connection does not complete
If Chrome does not list your BitBox02 or MEW reports that it is busy, confirm that the BitBoxApp and other wallet applications using it are closed. Disconnect and reconnect the BitBox02, then repeat the connection from Unlock BitBox02. For an unresolved detection or ordinary connection error, use Fix BitBox02 connection problems in MyEtherWallet.
If pairing codes differ, a device-authenticity check fails, or a website asks for wallet secrets, stop and contact BitBox Support. Do not bypass the warning, reset the device, or restore a backup to complete this connection.
For an unresolved problem, tell Support which step failed, the exact error without confidential information, your operating system, Chrome version, and BitBox firmware version if known. Never send recovery words, passwords, passphrases, private keys, or backup files.
